Carole Raspotnik, MA

**Child and Adolescent Therapist**

For me, psychotherapy begins with trust. My approach is collaborative and empathic. I have nine years experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. I love helping children and their families find their self-worth by helping them express their true feelings so they can understand one another. I utilize my training and experience in child development studies to help children, adolescents, and guardians understand each other in appropriate ways. I keep in mind that each child and family is unique, seeking to understand without judgement.

I have worked with a variety of presenting issues including: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, mood disorders and coping techniques. I am trained in play therapy techniques, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and utilize Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered modalities to provide an individualized approach in therapy. I promise to allow clients and their families to feel valued and heard while motivating them to become the best versions of themselves. I am dedicated in celebrating clients’ individuality and allowing clients the space to explore their story, and in return gain confidence, awareness, and self-acceptance.

It would be my pleasure in guiding your child/adolescent and your family to a healthier and meaningful life. I would love to hear from you.

I believe that we are all born with a capacity for happiness and inner well-being, and each of us desires to live a meaningful and enjoyable life. Adolescence and early adulthood are times of tremendous change during which we reflect on our identities, forge significant relationships, and begin to conceptualize the future. I have experience working with adolescents and teens and I recognize the many challenges that youth face in our current world. I partner with my clients to identify shared goals, develop coping skills and strategies, and build a strong therapeutic relationship with the intent of applying the work we do in session to their daily lives. If you are seeking support on this journey, for yourself or for your child, I invite you to reach out to me.

If you’re the parent of an intelligent, high energy, and emotional kid, you may feel exhausted. The frequent calls and emails from school staff about your child’s “red days” can be overwhelming. Each week, your creative and adventurous child is growing more angry, restless, and down on them self. You want your child to thrive, but you don’t know what to do. You want your child to look forward to their school day and come home with positive news about their friendships and schoolwork. You want them to be happy with who they are and accepted by others, and you want them to learn how to respond to conflict in a healthy way. This is where I come in. I utilize both play therapy and talk therapy to help your child process difficult experiences, build self-esteem, and learn skills that will help them handle life’s challenges. If you are looking for a safe space for your child to express their concerns AND someone to support you as a parent, call or email me so we can get started.

Wrayanne Glaze Parker, LPC, MAC, SAP

Rome Office

I believe fully that every individual can reach their full potential with the right support in place.  As a person in long-term recovery, I promise to take a personal investment in helping you get and stay well with a holistic approach.  I understand that taking that first step is the most challenging, but I am committed to building a non-judgmental therapeutic alliance in a caring environment that is safe and welcoming.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a nationally certified Masters Addiction Counselor (MAC), a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES), and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) with over 15 years of experience working in the behavioral healthcare field. A Veteran of the United States Army, I went on to complete my graduate degree at Walden University with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, minor in Forensic Psychology and is now working towards my Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD).

My experience includes working with trauma survivors (child and adult), veterans, LGBTQI+ community, individuals living with depression, anxiety, serious and persistent mental illness, co-occurring disorders, child welfare/DFCS involvement, substance use/addiction, domestic and family violence, and participants of the criminal justice system-juvenile and adult court programs.  I have worked in a variety of settings with child/adolescent to adult and aging adult populations including group, individual, residential, outpatient, and community-based services.  Let us find the way to your recovery together!

I am also certified to complete the return to duty evaluation for the department of transportation. If a driver fails a DOT test or engages in other prohibited drug or alcohol behavior and has a reported violation, his or her commercial driving career is stalled until specific steps in rehabilitation and treatment are completed.  The Return to Duty Process (RTD) requires a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) to assist in resuming safety-sensitive functions.  SAP testing is a face-to-face evaluation that provides the first step in completing the RTD process.
